WorkplaceMT
The program is typically taught face-to-face over a 6 week period with weekly sessions of 60 – 90 minutes and around 10-15 minutes daily practice which can easily be done at work.
Traditional courses like Mindfulness Based Stress-Reduction (MBSR) or Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) are designed to use by therapists and clinicians and are more suited to a clinical setting. WorkplaceMT however is designed to be delivered in a busy working environment meeting the needs of leaders, managers and employees.
There are now over 5000 research papers evidencing the impact of mindfulness overall and around 270 research papers looking at the impact of mindfulness specifically in the workplace.
They demonstrate positive outcomes in many areas not limited to but including:
- Performance
- Relationships
- Leadership
- Resilience and burnout
Detailed outcomes of specific research papers can be provided on request.
WorkplaceMT program overview
Research has demonstrated that mindfulness is learned via a combination of 3 key elements:
- Formal practice (usually practiced at home)
- Understanding of key psychological principles
- Informal practice or daily mindfulness which are easy practices which can be done at home or at work
WorkplaceMT training includes the above elements in every weekly session. The weekly face-to-face training provides opportunites to:
- practicing mindfulness in a safe and supportive way
- reflecting and transferring what has been learned to the workplace
- asking questions which is often vital for beginners to make sense of their experience, overcome challenges and learn how to deal with blocks which might be encountered
- learning from peers and support by peers
